  1. Develop and analyze the state's budget, including revenue projections, expenditure tracking, and budgetary trends.
  2. Conduct thorough research and gather data to inform budget recommendations and decisions.
  3. Collaborate with various departments and agencies to gather budget information and ensure accuracy and consistency.
  4. Monitor and track budget performance and provide regular reports to management and stakeholders.
  5. Identify and analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for corrective action.
  6. Ensure compliance with fiscal policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  7. Assist in the development of budgetary guidelines and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in budget analysis and financial management.
  9. Communicate budgetary information and recommendations to management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  10. Train and mentor junior budget analysts in budget analysis techniques and procedures.
  11. Participate in cross-functional teams and projects related to budget management and improvement.
  12. Collaborate with other senior budget analysts to develop long-term budget plans and strategies.
  13. Provide support during budget hearings and meetings with legislative and executive officials.
  14. Proactively identify potential budget issues and risks and develop contingency plans.
  15. Uphold the mission and values of the State of Arizona in all budget analysis and decision-making processes.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Finance, Accounting, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Budget Analysis Or Financial Management.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of State Budget Policies, Procedures, And Regulations.

  • Strong Analytical Skills And Ability To Interpret Complex Financial Data.

  • Excellent Communication And Presentation Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders And Present Budget Recommendations To Senior Management.
