  1. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the organization, maintenance, and disposal of government records in accordance with state regulations and best practices.
  2. Train and oversee a team of record specialists to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  3. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of records management processes and make recommendations for improvement.
  4. Regularly review and update record retention schedules to ensure accurate and timely disposition of records.
  5. Coordinate with various government agencies and departments to facilitate the transfer and retrieval of records as needed.
  6. Ensure the security and confidentiality of sensitive records by implementing appropriate access controls.
  7. Maintain accurate records database and tracking systems to facilitate record retrieval and reporting.
  8. Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with records management policies and procedures.
  9. Stay informed about advancements and changes in records management practices and technology to continuously improve processes.
  10. Collaborate with IT department to develop and implement electronic records management systems.
  11. Serve as a liaison between the State of Arizona and external agencies or organizations regarding records management.
  12. Provide guidance and support to employees regarding records management procedures and practices.
  13. Prepare and present reports to upper management on the status of records management and any potential issues or concerns.
  14. Ensure the proper preservation and conservation of historical records and documents.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with colleagues and stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Records Management, Library Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Records Management, Preferably In A Government Agency.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Records Management, Including Retention Schedules And Privacy Requirements.

  • Proficiency In Electronic Records Management Systems And Document Imaging Software.

  • Strong Organizational And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Train And Manage A Team Of Records Management Staff.
