Job Description

In this role, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing plans to protect our communities from radiological emergencies.   1. Develop and implement radiological preparedness plans to protect communities from potential emergencies.
  2. Conduct thorough assessments of radiological hazards and identify potential risks.
  3. Coordinate and collaborate with various agencies and organizations to ensure effective emergency response.
  4. Stay up-to-date on current radiological preparedness and emergency management practices and regulations.
  5. Conduct training and education programs for emergency responders and community members on radiological preparedness.
  6. Utilize effective communication skills to disseminate information and instructions during emergencies.
  7. Work closely with local, state, and federal agencies to coordinate response efforts in the event of a radiological emergency.
  8. Maintain accurate and organized records of radiological preparedness plans and activities.
  9. Analyze and evaluate emergency response procedures to identify areas for improvement.
  10. Provide guidance and support to communities and individuals on how to protect themselves during a radiological emergency.
  11. Serve as a liaison between the state government and the public regarding radiological preparedness and emergency management.
  12. Respond to emergency situations and provide on-site support and direction as needed.
  13. Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of radiological preparedness plans.
  14. Collaborate with other emergency management professionals to develop and implement comprehensive emergency response plans.
  15. Demonstrate a strong commitment to public service and the safety and well-being of others.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Public Health, Emergency Management, Or Radiological Sciences.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Emergency Management, Disaster Response, Or Public Health With A Focus On Radiological Preparedness.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of State And Federal Laws, Regulations, And Guidelines Related To Radiological Preparedness And Emergency Response.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Coordinate And Collaborate With Various Stakeholders, Including Government Agencies, Healthcare Facilities, And Community Organizations.

  • Certification Or Training In Radiological Emergency Preparedness And Response, Such As Fema's Radiological Emergency Preparedness Program Or The National Response Framework.
