  1. Answer incoming emergency calls and gather important information from callers.
  2. Remain calm and composed while handling high-stress and time-sensitive situations.
  3. Dispatch appropriate emergency services to the location of the incident.
  4. Provide guidance and reassurance to callers while following established protocols and procedures.
  5. Monitor and track the status of ongoing emergency situations and update relevant parties as needed.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all calls received and actions taken.
  7. Collaborate with other emergency response personnel to ensure the most efficient and effective response.
  8. Stay up-to-date on emergency response protocols and procedures.
  9. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including clear and concise verbal and written communication.
  10. Exercise good judgment and decision-making skills to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  11. Display a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to public safety.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  13. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the geography and resources within the state.
  14. Participate in training and continuing education programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  15. Foster a positive and professional work environment by working collaboratively with team members.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Call-Takers Must Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills In Order To Effectively Gather Information From Callers And Relay Important Details To Emergency Responders.

  • Knowledge Of Emergency Protocols: Familiarity With Emergency Response Procedures And Protocols Is Essential For Call-Takers To Accurately Assess The Severity Of A Situation And Dispatch The Appropriate Resources.

  • Ability To Multi-Task: Call-Takers Must Be Able To Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously, Including Answering Phone Calls, Gathering Information, And Dispatching Emergency Services. They Must Be Able To Remain Calm And Organized In High-Pressure Situations.

  • Critical Thinking Skills: Call-Takers Must Have The Ability To Think Quickly And Make Sound Decisions Under Pressure. They Must Be Able To Analyze Situations And Prioritize Responses Based On The Severity And Urgency Of The Situation.

  • Customer Service Experience: Call-Takers Must Have Prior Experience In Customer Service Roles, As They Will Be Interacting With Individuals In Distress And Must Be Able To Provide Compassionate And Empathetic Support During Emergency Situations.
