
INTERMENT CARETAKER

- Conduct interment activities with utmost respect and sensitivity, honoring the cultural and religious beliefs of the deceased and their families.
- Perform all tasks related to the opening and closing of graves, including excavating graves, installing vaults, and backfilling gravesites.
- Maintain the grounds of the cemeteries, including mowing lawns, trimming trees and shrubs, and planting flowers.
- Ensure that all burial markers, monuments, and headstones are accurately placed and properly cared for.
- Assist with funeral services and ceremonies, including setting up chairs, tents, and audio equipment as needed.
- Work collaboratively with funeral directors and other cemetery staff to ensure a seamless and dignified burial process for families.
- Maintain accurate records of all burials, including location and ownership of plots, and provide information to families and visitors as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and members of the public.
- Attend and participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge pertaining to cemetery operations and customer service.
- Uphold the values and mission of the State of Arizona, displaying a strong commitment to public service and community involvement.
Knowledge Of Cemetery Operations: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Cemetery Maintenance, Burial Procedures, And Regulations Related To Interment Services.
Physical Fitness And Stamina: This Role May Require Heavy Lifting, Digging, And Other Physically Demanding Tasks, So Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform Manual Labor For Extended Periods Of Time.
Attention To Detail: Interment Caretakers Must Be Meticulous And Have A Keen Eye For Detail, As They Are Responsible For The Accurate Placement Of Grave Markers And The Maintenance Of Burial Records.
Interpersonal And Communication Skills: As This Role Involves Interacting With Grieving Families And Other Cemetery Staff, Candidates Should Have Strong Interpersonal Skills And The Ability To Communicate Effectively And Empathetically.
