  1. Oversee all aspects of financial reporting for the state government, including the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
  2. Ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
  3. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure proper financial reporting practices.
  4. Monitor and review financial data to identify any discrepancies or errors and take corrective action as needed.
  5. Manage a team of financial reporting staff and provide guidance and support as needed.
  6. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to gather financial data and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  7. Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations, and make necessary adjustments to financial reporting processes.
  8. Conduct regular audits to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with internal controls.
  9. Prepare presentations and reports for senior management and other stakeholders.
  10. Provide training and guidance to staff on financial reporting processes and procedures.
  11. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to streamline and improve the financial reporting process.
  12. Communicate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
  13. Drive a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency in financial reporting.
  14. Handle any other duties and responsibilities related to financial reporting as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Financial Reporting, Preferably In A Government Setting

  • Strong Understanding Of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Gaap) And Governmental Accounting Standards Board (Gasb) Regulations

  • Experience With Financial Reporting Software And Systems, Such As Sap Or Oracle

  • Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With Attention To Detail And Accuracy In Financial Reporting.
