- Maintain accurate and transparent federal and cost accounting records for the state of Arizona.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations and guidelines related to accounting and financial reporting.
- Perform regular audits and reviews of financial records to identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial reports to federal agencies and other stakeholders.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to gather and analyze financial data and make recommendations for budget planning and forecasting.
- Monitor and track federal funding and expenditures, ensuring proper allocation and utilization.
- Conduct cost analysis and provide financial insights to support decision-making processes.
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff on federal and cost accounting processes and procedures.
- Stay updated on changes in federal and state accounting regulations and communicate any updates or changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in meetings and presentations to provide financial expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of financial data and records.
- Handle any other accounting duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Federal And Cost Accounting, Preferably In A Government Setting.
Knowledge Of Federal And State Accounting Principles, Laws, And Regulations.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Financial Data And Make Recommendations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Other Departments And Stakeholders.
