As the Emergency Planning Coordinator, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing emergency plans and procedures to ensure the readiness of our state in times of crisis.   1. Develop and maintain emergency plans and procedures for the state of Arizona.
  2. Collaborate with government agencies, community organizations, and first responders to ensure effective emergency response efforts.
  3. Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities.
  4. Train and educate employees and stakeholders on emergency protocols and procedures.
  5. Monitor and evaluate emergency response plans and make necessary adjustments to improve effectiveness.
  6. Coordinate and facilitate emergency drills and exercises to test readiness and identify areas for improvement.
  7. Serve as a liaison between the state government and other agencies during times of crisis.
  8. Stay updated on current emergency management trends and best practices to continuously improve emergency planning efforts.
  9. Maintain accurate records and reports related to emergency planning and response.
  10. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to develop and implement cross-functional emergency plans.
  11. Communicate with the public during emergency situations to provide necessary information and updates.
  12. Work with community leaders and stakeholders to educate and involve them in emergency preparedness efforts.
  13. Respond to emergency situations as needed and assist with the coordination of resources.
  14. Stay informed on federal and state emergency management policies and regulations to ensure compliance.
  15. Participate in meetings and conferences related to emergency planning and response.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Emergency Planning And Response, Preferably In A Government Or Public Sector Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Federal And State Emergency Management Policies And Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Coordinate And Lead Multi-Agency Emergency Response Efforts.

  • Certification In Emergency Management, Such As Certified Emergency Manager (Cem) Or Certified Business Continuity Professional (Cbcp), Is Preferred.
