- Conduct research on various water policy issues related to the Colorado River and its management.
- Analyze data and develop reports to inform decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to develop effective policies and strategies for sustainable water use.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of existing water policies and make recommendations for improvements.
- Stay up-to-date on current water policy and regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Provide expert analysis and advice on water policy issues to internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in meetings, conferences, and workshops related to water policy and management.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry representatives, and community organizations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of public outreach and education initiatives related to water conservation and management.
- Serve as a liaison between the State of Arizona and other entities involved in Colorado River water management.
- Monitor and report on the state's compliance with interstate and international water agreements.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the State's water rights and legal obligations.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities related to water policy and provide recommendations for mitigation or enhancement.
- Prepare and present reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate complex water policy issues to various audiences.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and best practices in water management and policy to continuously improve the state's approach to water conservation.
Bachelor's Degree In Water Resources Management, Environmental Science, Public Policy, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Water Policy Analysis, Preferably In The Colorado River Basin.
Knowledge Of State And Federal Water Laws, Regulations, And Policies Related To The Colorado River.
Strong Analytical Skills And Ability To Interpret Complex Data And Make Recommendations For Policy Decisions.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, Including The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Stakeholders And Present Findings To Government Officials.
