As the Chief Communications Officer, you will play a vital role in shaping and executing our communication strategy to effectively reach and engage with our citizens, stakeholders, and media outlets.   1. Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to effectively reach and engage with citizens, stakeholders, and media outlets.
  2. Oversee all communication efforts, including media relations, public relations, social media, and internal communications.
  3. Serve as the main point of contact for all media inquiries and coordinate media interviews and appearances for key stakeholders.
  4. Monitor and analyze media coverage and public perception of the State of Arizona and provide regular updates to leadership.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and community leaders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  6. Collaborate with various departments and agencies to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
  7. Ensure all communication efforts are aligned with the organization's goals and values.
  8. Develop crisis communication plans and serve as a spokesperson during emergency situations.
  9. Manage a team of communication professionals and provide guidance, mentorship, and support.
  10. Stay updated on best practices and industry trends in communication and make recommendations for improvement.
  11. Foster a culture of transparency and open communication within the organization.
  12. Represent the State of Arizona at public events and conferences, as needed.
  13. Provide regular reports and updates to leadership on communication efforts and outcomes.
  14. Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  15. Drive positive change and promote the organization's commitment to excellence in public service through effective communication.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In A Senior Leadership Role In Communications Or Public Relations.

  • In-Depth Knowledge And Understanding Of Government Operations, Policies, And Procedures.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Convey Complex Information To A Wide Range Of Stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated Experience In Crisis Communication Management, Strategic Planning, And Media Relations.
