- Oversee all aspects of indirect tax compliance for Starbucks, including sales tax, use tax, and value-added tax.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize indirect tax liabilities and optimize tax efficiency.
- Conduct research and stay up-to-date on changes in indirect tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Prepare and review indirect tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely filing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements related to indirect tax compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to other members of the tax team on indirect tax matters.
- Partner with external tax advisors and authorities to resolve any indirect tax issues or audits.
- Monitor and analyze indirect tax implications of business transactions and advise on potential tax implications.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including accounting, finance, and legal teams.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices related to indirect taxation.
- Lead and participate in special projects and initiatives related to indirect tax, as needed.
- Continuously evaluate and improve indirect tax processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Represent Starbucks in a professional manner and uphold the company's values and culture.
- Act as a subject matter expert on indirect tax matters and provide training and guidance to other team members as needed.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and community impact in all aspects of the role.
Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Indirect Tax, Preferably In A Large Corporation Or Public Accounting Firm.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Tax Laws And Regulations Related To Sales And Use Tax, Property Tax, And Excise Tax.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Complex Tax Laws And Apply Them To Business Operations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Effectively Communicate Tax Concepts To Non-Tax Professionals.
