Senior University Counsel

Stanford University is looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and collaborative Senior University Counsel to join our legal team. In this critical leadership role, you will support the university and its various academic, research, and administrative divisions in a variety of legal matters. The successful candidate must have an in-depth knowledge of higher education and the legal issues that universities face.The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of legal experience, with a minimum of five years of experience in higher education law. You should have a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school and be an active member of the California State Bar in good standing. You should have a proven track record in providing legal advice to senior leadership and a wide range of university stakeholders.Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential in this role. You should possess a strong sense of ethics and the ability to work collaboratively with the legal team and other departments in the university.
