  1. Design, develop, and maintain high-performance computing (HPC) and cloud infrastructure for Stanford University's research computing needs.
  2. Collaborate with researchers and faculty to understand their computing requirements and provide solutions that meet their needs.
  3. Implement and optimize HPC and cloud workflows, including job scheduling, data management, and parallel computing.
  4. Monitor and troubleshoot HPC and cloud systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  5. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in HPC and cloud technologies, and make recommendations for their implementation at Stanford.
  6. Work closely with other members of the HPC team to ensure seamless integration and compatibility of systems.
  7. Provide technical support and training to users on HPC and cloud systems and tools.
  8. Develop and maintain documentation of HPC and cloud systems and processes.
  9. Lead projects and initiatives to improve and enhance HPC and cloud infrastructure and services.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve system security and data protection measures.
  11. Collaborate with vendors and external partners to procure and integrate new HPC and cloud technologies.
  12. Mentor and train junior team members on HPC and cloud engineering best practices.
  13. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and troubleshooting.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Managing And Maintaining High Performance Computing (Hpc) Clusters And Cloud Infrastructure, Preferably In A Large Academic Or Research Environment.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Hpc Architecture And Technologies, Including Parallel File Systems, Job Scheduling Systems, And Cluster Management Tools.

  • Proficiency In Programming And Scripting Languages Commonly Used In Hpc, Such As Python, Bash, And C/C++.

  • Experience With Cloud Computing Platforms, Such As Aws, Azure, Or Google Cloud, And Ability To Optimize And Automate Hpc Workflows In A Cloud Environment.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills, As Well As The Ability To Provide Technical Leadership And Mentorship To Junior Team Members.
