- Oversee the collection, organization, and management of research data for various projects within Stanford University.
- Develop and implement data management strategies to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
- Collaborate with researchers and scholars to understand their data needs and provide support in data management.
- Train and mentor other team members on best practices for data collection, organization, and management.
- Monitor and track data usage, ensuring compliance with university policies and regulations.
- Conduct data quality checks and troubleshoot any data issues that arise.
- Develop and maintain data documentation and metadata to ensure data is easily accessible and understandable.
- Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in data management to continuously improve processes and procedures.
- Work closely with IT and other departments to identify and implement new tools and technologies for data management.
- Assist in preparing data for publication and presentations, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Communicate effectively with researchers and stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide support and guidance.
- Collaborate with other data managers and teams across the university to share best practices and ensure consistency in data management.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive data in accordance with university policies and regulations.
- Participate in university-wide committees and working groups related to data management.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Advanced Degree In A Related Field Such As Library Science, Information Science, Or Data Management.
Experience Managing Large And Complex Research Data Sets, Including Data Collection, Organization, And Preservation.
Knowledge Of Research Data Management Best Practices And Standards, Including Metadata, Data Sharing, And Data Security.
Familiarity With Relevant Data Management Tools And Software, Such As Dmptool, Redcap, And Openrefine.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Researchers, Faculty, And Other Stakeholders To Understand Their Data Needs And Provide Effective Solutions.
