Job Description

Stanford University is seeking a Research Computing Systems Specialist to join our cutting-edge research computing team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for delivering computing services that enable advanced research. The ideal candidate will have the technical knowledge and experience to develop, maintain, and support research computing systems and services.The Research Computing Systems Specialist will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of robust research computing systems and services for our faculty, staff, and students. As part of the research computing team, this individual will also work closely with other members of the department to ensure that our research computing services are secure and reliable.The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of the principles and technologies associated with research computing. The ideal candidate will also have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, as well as at least two years of relevant work experience. Experience with Linux/Unix systems, virtualization technologies, and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell are also highly desirable.This unique opportunity offers the successful candidate the chance to work as part of an innovative team to develop and maintain cutting-edge research computing services for Stanford University.
