
Public Safety Officer

- Maintain a visible and professional presence on campus to deter crime and ensure a safe environment for all members of the Stanford community.
- Respond promptly to calls for service, emergencies, and safety concerns on campus.
- Conduct regular patrols of campus buildings and grounds to identify and address potential safety hazards.
- Monitor and enforce campus policies and regulations to promote a secure and orderly environment.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, faculty, staff, and visitors to address their safety concerns and provide assistance when needed.
- Investigate and report any incidents, accidents, or crimes that occur on campus.
- Provide first aid and emergency medical care when necessary.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services to ensure a coordinated response to emergencies.
- Monitor and maintain security equipment, such as cameras and alarms, to ensure their proper functioning.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on safety procedures and protocols.
- Serve as a role model for safety and security by adhering to all departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist with special events and provide security and crowd control as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of daily activities and incidents.
- Identify and report any potential security vulnerabilities on campus.
- Participate in community outreach initiatives to educate and engage the campus community in safety and security efforts.
Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.
Completion Of A Police Academy Training Program And Possession Of A Valid Peace Officer Certification.
At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Law Enforcement Or Public Safety.
Excellent Physical Fitness And Ability To Pass A Comprehensive Physical And Psychological Exam.
Strong Communication And Conflict Resolution Skills, With A Focus On Community-Oriented Policing And Building Positive Relationships With Students, Faculty, And Staff.
