- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the library's technology and systems, in alignment with the university's goals and objectives
- Lead a team of technology professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
- Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of all library systems, ensuring their reliability and functionality
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and implement new technologies and systems that will enhance library services
- Stay up-to-date with technological advancements and trends in the library field, and make recommendations for their integration into the library's systems
- Manage the library's technology budget, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources
- Work closely with vendors to negotiate contracts and maintain positive relationships
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the use of library systems and technologies
- Conduct regular user needs assessments and gather feedback to continuously improve the user experience
- Provide training and support to library staff and users on the use of library systems and technologies
- Stay informed about privacy and security issues related to library systems and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Represent the library's technology and systems interests in university-wide committees and projects.
Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Library Science, Information Science, Or A Related Field.
7+ Years Of Experience In Library Systems And Technology, Preferably In An Academic Or Research Library Setting.
Extensive Knowledge And Experience With Library Management Systems, Digital Repositories, And Other Library Technologies.
Proven Leadership Skills, With Experience Managing A Team And Implementing Strategic Initiatives.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Stakeholders, Including Faculty, Staff, And Students.
