  1. Develop and implement comprehensive training and development programs for research administration professionals at Stanford University.
  2. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to identify training needs and create tailored programs to meet those needs.
  3. Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of training programs to ensure effectiveness and make necessary improvements.
  4. Serve as a subject matter expert on research administration principles and practices, staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
  5. Lead a team of trainers and support staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and organizations to enhance outreach and engagement opportunities for research administration professionals at Stanford.
  7. Represent Stanford at conferences, workshops, and other events to promote the university and share knowledge and expertise.
  8. Collaborate with other university departments to develop cross-functional training programs and initiatives.
  9. Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure the success of training and development programs.
  10. Act as a liaison between research administration professionals and university leadership to communicate training needs and advocate for resources and support.
  11. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the research administration community at Stanford.
  12. Stay informed and comply with all relevant policies, regulations, and laws related to research administration and training.
  13. Utilize data and analytics to track the impact and effectiveness of training and development programs, and make data-driven decisions for improvement.
  14. Develop and maintain training materials, resources, and tools to support the training and development programs.
  15. Collaborate with human resources to incorporate training and development into the overall employee development strategy at Stanford.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Research Administration Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 7-10 Years Of Experience In Research Administration, With A Demonstrated Understanding Of Grant And Contract Management, Compliance Regulations, And Sponsored Project Administration.

  • Leadership And Management Skills: The Director Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Leading A Team, With The Ability To Develop And Implement Training And Development Strategies, Allocate Resources Effectively, And Foster A Positive And Collaborative Work Culture.

  • Knowledge Of Federal Regulations And Policies: The Candidate Should Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of The Federal Regulations And Policies Governing Research Administration, Including Omb Uniform Guidance, Nih And Nsf Policies, And Other Applicable Regulations.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Director Will Be Responsible For Developing And Maintaining Relationships With Various Stakeholders, Including Faculty, Staff, And External Partners. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role.

  • Strategic Thinking And Problem-Solving Abilities: The Director Should Be A Strategic Thinker With The Ability To Identify And Address Challenges And Opportunities In Research Administration Training And Development. They Should Also Possess Strong Problem-Solving Skills To Develop Innovative Solutions To Complex Issues.
