- Manage and oversee the development, organization, and maintenance of Stanford University's digital collections.
- Collaborate with the Special Collections team to identify and prioritize materials for digitization.
- Conduct research and implement best practices for digital preservation and access.
- Create and maintain metadata and descriptive records for digital materials.
- Collaborate with other departments and institutions to acquire and share digital collections.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the long-term preservation and access of digital collections.
- Lead digitization projects and manage workflows to ensure timely completion.
- Train and supervise student assistants and volunteers working on digital collections.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in digital preservation and access.
- Ensure compliance with copyright and intellectual property laws in regards to digital materials.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to promote and increase access to digital collections.
- Contribute to grant writing and fundraising efforts to support digital preservation initiatives.
- Conduct outreach and engage with diverse communities to increase awareness and use of digital collections.
- Assist researchers and patrons with access to and use of digital collections.
- Participate in professional development activities and contribute to the field through publications and presentations.
Master's Degree In Library And Information Science, With A Focus On Digital Collections Management Or Archives.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience Working With Digital Collections, Preferably In An Academic Or Research Library Setting.
Knowledge Of Current And Emerging Digital Preservation Standards And Best Practices, Including Metadata Standards And Digital File Formats.
Familiarity With Content Management Systems And Digital Repository Platforms, Such As Dspace Or Omeka.
Strong Organizational And Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Prioritize And Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously.
