Job Description

Welcome to the Stanford University Athletics Department! We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Coach for Student-Athlete Success. As a Coach, you will have the opportunity to work with our talented student-athletes and assist them in achieving their academic and athletic goals. We are looking for someone who is passionate about developing young athletes both on and off the field, and who is committed to promoting a culture of excellence and success. If you have a strong background in coaching and a genuine interest in the personal growth and development of student-athletes, then we encourage you to apply.

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive program for student-athlete success, including academic support, career development, and personal growth opportunities.
  2. Provide individualized coaching and mentorship to student-athletes, helping them set and achieve academic and athletic goals.
  3. Create a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes excellence, respect, and personal development.
  4. Collaborate with academic advisors, coaches, and other staff members to ensure the academic success of student-athletes.
  5. Track and monitor the academic progress of student-athletes, and develop strategies to support those who may be struggling.
  6. Serve as a role model and mentor for student-athletes, providing guidance and support for their personal and professional development.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with university faculty and staff to support the academic success of student-athletes.
  8. Stay current on NCAA rules and regulations related to academic eligibility and ensure compliance within the athletics department.
  9. Plan and facilitate workshops and training sessions on topics such as time management, study skills, and career planning.
  10. Communicate regularly with student-athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders to provide updates on academic progress and support services.
  11. Participate in recruitment and retention efforts to attract and retain talented student-athletes who are committed to academic and athletic excellence.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the student-athlete success program, incorporating feedback from student-athletes and staff members.
  13. Represent the athletics department and the university in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  14. Attend department meetings and professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in student-athlete success.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletics Director or other supervisory staff.

Job Qualifications
