We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Director to join our Emergency Preparedness and Response team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our campus community in the event of emergencies. We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and compassionate individual to help lead our emergency response efforts.   1. Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of the campus community.
  2. Coordinate and collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and effective emergency response strategy.
  3. Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards on campus, and make recommendations for mitigation and prevention.
  4. Train and educate staff, faculty, and students on emergency protocols and procedures, including evacuation plans, sheltering, and communication strategies.
  5. Serve as a liaison with local emergency response agencies and stay informed about current emergency protocols and procedures.
  6. Manage and maintain emergency equipment and supplies, and ensure their readiness for use in the event of an emergency.
  7. Develop and conduct emergency drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency plans and procedures.
  8. Provide support and guidance to individuals during emergency situations, including counseling and emotional support.
  9. Stay up-to-date on current emergency management best practices and make recommendations for improvements to existing plans and procedures.
  10. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to emergency preparedness and response activities.
  11. Respond to emergencies and provide direction and support to emergency response teams, as needed.
  12. Communicate effectively and promptly with campus leadership and stakeholders during emergency situations.
  13. Monitor and analyze data related to emergency response efforts and make recommendations for improvements based on findings.
  14. Represent the university in emergency preparedness and response meetings and events, both on and off campus.
  15. Stay abreast of local, state, and federal emergency management guidelines and regulations, and ensure compliance with these standards.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Health, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Emergency Preparedness And Response, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Emergency Management Regulations And Protocols.

  • Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Multiple Stakeholders.

  • Certification In Emergency Management Or Disaster Preparedness, Such As Certified Emergency Manager (Cem) Or Certified Business Continuity Professional (Cbcp).
