At SoCalGas, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Safety Coordinator to join our team. As the Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety policies, programs, and procedures. You will ensure that safety standards are followed throughout the organization and monitor the safety performance of all personnel.The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in safety, health, environmental sciences or related field and at least 5 years of experience in a safety role in a large organization. You must also have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to develop and implement effective safety programs. You must have a strong understanding of federal, state, and local safety regulations and laws. Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage safety policies, programs, and procedures to ensure safety standards are followed throughout the organization.
- Monitor the safety performance of all personnel to ensure compliance with safety regulations and laws.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external safety organizations and suppliers.
- Investigate safety related incidents and provide recommendations for corrective action.
- Develop and implement effective safety training programs for personnel.
- Prepare and present safety-related reports to management.
- Provide guidance and direction to personnel on safety related matters.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and laws and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Participate in audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
