At SoCalGas, we are looking for a motivated and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team. You will be responsible for supporting the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and visitors to our facilities. We’re looking for someone who can work independently and is detail-oriented. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to safety, a strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills.The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety role, a bachelor’s degree in safety or a related field, and a valid driver’s license. Previous experience in the gas industry is a plus, but not required.If you have a passion for safety and a desire to contribute to a safe and healthy work environment, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and applicable state and local safety standards.
- Monitor and evaluate workplace safety conditions on a regular basis.
- Investigate and report safety incidents, accidents, and hazardous conditions in the workplace.
- Conduct safety training and orientation for new employees.
- Coordinate and direct safety audits and inspections.
- Develop and implement safety programs to reduce incidents and improve safety culture.
- Monitor safety equipment and supplies to ensure adequate levels.
- Maintain safety records and documentation.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide assistance as needed.
- Work with other departments to ensure safety needs are met.
