SoCalGas is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Safety Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure the safety of our employees and work environment. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about safety and has the ability to think strategically and proactively identify potential safety risks.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety-related role, a bachelor’s degree in safety or a related field, and knowledge of safety regulations. They should also have excellent communication skills, strong problem solving and decision making abilities, and a commitment to fostering a safe and positive work environment. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and have the ability to work independently and in a team setting. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
- Monitor and review safety regulations and ensure adherence to applicable safety standards.
- Conduct safety inspections and analyze results to identify potential safety risks.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify underlying causes and preventive measures.
- Provide safety training and education to all employees.
- Monitor and review safety incidents and trends to develop corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Monitor safety compliance and performance of contractors and subcontractors.
- Prepare reports, documents, and other safety-related materials.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and ensure that safety initiatives are implemented.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in safety regulations and standards.
Proficiency With Microsoft Office Suite
