Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join SoCalGas. As a Procurement Specialist, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and cost-effective purchasing of goods and services in support of our operations. You must have strong communication and negotiation skills, be organized and reliable, and possess a knack for finding cost-saving opportunities. Responsibilities of a Procurement Specialist:

  1. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
  2. Utilize market research and analysis to identify new and cost-saving opportunities.
  3. Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure the best prices and terms.
  4. Monitor the status of orders and deliveries to ensure timely completion.
  5. Create and maintain accurate records of all procurement activities.
  6. Monitor changes in product and service pricing and availability.
  7. Manage the procurement budget and ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
  8. Provide regular updates and reports to internal stakeholders regarding procurement activities.
  9. Ensure proper implementation of purchasing policies and procedures.
  10. Assist with the development and implementation of new procurement strategies.
