Job Description

We here at SoCalGas are looking for an experienced GIS Specialist to join the team! In this role, you will be responsible for executing the development and maintenance of critical GIS projects. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in GIS, cartography, and database management. You should also have a thorough understanding of the ESRI ArcGIS suite and other GIS software. We are looking for a GIS Specialist who is passionate about their work and has a strong eye for detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. You should also be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team. If you have the qualifications and the drive we seek, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain GIS projects using ESRI ArcGIS suite and other GIS software. • Create detailed maps and reports using GIS data. • Work collaboratively with other members of the GIS team and other teams. • Analyze and synthesize GIS data to identify problems and propose solutions. • Monitor GIS projects from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Manage GIS databases and related information systems. • Ensure data quality and accuracy in GIS projects. • Troubleshoot GIS issues and develop strategies to resolve them. • Develop GIS workflows and processes to improve efficiency. • Provide technical support and training to other team members.
