Job Description

As a GIS Specialist at SoCalGas, you will have the opportunity to use your expertise in Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies to help protect and improve the reliability of our natural gas infrastructure. You will be responsible for developing and delivering GIS solutions to support the data analysis and mapping needs of the organization. We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented professional with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong understanding of GIS. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, experience with GIS software such as ESRI and ArcGIS, and a firm grasp of cartography principles. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and deliver GIS solutions to support data analysis and mapping needs.
  2. Assist in the protection and improvement of the reliability of the natural gas infrastructure.
  3. Utilize GIS technologies to develop maps and visualizations related to the organization's needs.
  4. Work with GIS software such as ESRI and ArcGIS to develop and maintain GIS databases.
  5. Develop and maintain cartography principles to ensure accurate and up-to-date GIS data.
  6. Create and implement data integrity protocols and standards for GIS data.
  7. Train and support staff on the usage of GIS applications.
  8. Research and analyze trends related to GIS data.
  9. Maintain and update GIS data and databases.
