- Maintain and troubleshoot all audio equipment and systems used in the on-air operations at Sirius XM Radio.
- Monitor and ensure the quality, clarity, and reliability of all audio broadcasts.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as programming and production, to ensure smooth and efficient operation of live shows and pre-recorded content.
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal functioning and minimal downtime.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advances in audio technology, and make recommendations for upgrades or improvements.
- Create and maintain documentation of all equipment, configurations, and procedures to be used as reference for future troubleshooting.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians in audio equipment operation and maintenance.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for equipment repairs and installations.
- Participate in emergency response procedures and be available for on-call support as needed.
- Implement and maintain backup systems and contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted broadcasting in case of technical issues.
- Communicate effectively with team members and superiors, providing regular updates on equipment status and maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working with audio equipment.
- Identify and propose solutions for any potential issues that may impact the quality or reliability of broadcasts.
- Continuously monitor and analyze audio signals to detect and resolve any issues that may affect the on-air experience.
- Continuously strive to improve and optimize audio quality and processes to enhance the overall listening experience for our audience.
Bachelor's Degree In Electrical Engineering Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Broadcast Engineering, Preferably In Radio.
Strong Knowledge Of Audio And Rf Systems, Including Digital Audio Processing And Distribution.
Familiarity With Fcc Regulations And Standards For Radio Broadcasting.
Ability To Troubleshoot And Maintain Broadcast Equipment, Including Transmitters, Studio Equipment, And Satellite Systems.
