Siemens is seeking a Light Rail Weld Group Lead to oversee our welding operations for light rail vehicles. In this role, you will lead a team of welders to ensure the highest quality standards are met while also driving continuous improvement in our processes.   1. Lead and manage a team of welders to ensure efficient and effective welding operations for light rail vehicles.
  2. Monitor and maintain the quality of welds to meet industry standards and specifications.
  3. Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize welding processes and procedures.
  4. Set clear expectations and goals for the welding team and provide guidance and support to achieve them.
  5. Train and develop team members on welding techniques, safety protocols, and company policies.
  6. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and identify areas for improvement.
  7. Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and production, to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.
  8. Communicate effectively with team members and superiors, providing updates on progress, challenges, and recommendations.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues, utilizing problem-solving skills and technical knowledge.
  10. Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of welding equipment and tools.
  11. Keep accurate records and documentation of welding processes, materials, and quality control measures.
  12. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in welding technology, and make recommendations for their implementation.
  13. Uphold company values and promote a positive work culture within the welding team.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Welding Experience: A Light Rail Weld Group Lead At Siemens Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Welding Experience, Preferably In A Rail Or Transportation Industry. They Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Various Welding Techniques And Be Able To Read And Interpret Welding Drawings And Specifications.

  • Leadership Skills: The Weld Group Lead Should Have Strong Leadership Skills And Be Able To Effectively Manage A Team Of Welders. They Should Be Able To Delegate Tasks, Provide Clear Instructions, And Motivate Team Members To Achieve Production Goals.

  • Knowledge Of Welding Standards And Regulations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Welding Standards And Regulations, Such As Aws D1.1, En Iso 3834, And En 15085. They Should Also Be Familiar With Relevant Codes And Standards For Rail And Transportation Industries, Such As En 50126, En 50128, And En 50129.

  • Quality Control And Inspection Experience: The Weld Group Lead Should Have Experience In Quality Control And Inspection Processes, Including Non-Destructive Testing (Ndt), Visual Inspection, And Dimensional Verification. They Should Be Able To Ensure That All Welding Activities Meet The Required Quality Standards And Specifications.

  • Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working In A Fast-Paced Environment, The Weld Group Lead Should Have Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills. They Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Team Members, Managers, And Other Stakeholders, And Collaborate With Other Departments To Achieve Project Goals.
