- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Participate in educational opportunities and continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide a holistic approach to patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and abide by HIPAA regulations.
- Follow all safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in the development of patient care plans.
- Handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
- Continuously demonstrate a commitment to professional development and growth within the healthcare field.
- Adhere to all Select Medical policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Completion Of A Nursing Assistant Or Patient Care Technician Training Program: The Student Nurse Technician / Prn Job At Select Medical Requires Applicants To Have Completed A Nursing Assistant Or Patient Care Technician Training Program. This Ensures That Candidates Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide Basic Patient Care.
Enrolled In An Accredited Nursing Program: As A Student Nurse Technician, It Is Important To Be Enrolled In An Accredited Nursing Program. This Demonstrates A Commitment To Pursuing A Career In Healthcare And A Dedication To Learning And Growing In The Field.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Select Medical Requires All Student Nurse Technicians To Be Certified In Basic Life Support (Bls). This Certification Ensures That Candidates Are Prepared To Handle Emergency Situations And Provide Basic Life-Saving Interventions.
Ability To Work Prn (As Needed) Hours: The Prn Aspect Of The Job Means That Candidates Must Be Available To Work On An As-Needed Basis, Including Evenings, Weekends, And Holidays. This Requires Flexibility And A Willingness To Work Varying Schedules.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Student Nurse Technicians At Select Medical Work Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals And Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively And Work Well In A Team. This Includes Being Able To Receive And Follow Instructions From Nurses And Physicians, As Well As Effectively Communicating With Patients And Their Families.
