  1. Accurately code and abstract patient medical records for inpatient facilities using the appropriate coding systems, such as ICD-10 and CPT.
  2. Review and analyze patient information to ensure proper coding and compliance with regulatory guidelines and standards.
  3. Communicate with healthcare providers and other team members to obtain necessary documentation for coding and billing purposes.
  4. Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses to ensure accurate coding.
  5. Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  6. Collaborate with the billing department to resolve coding-related denials and ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
  7. Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines when handling patient information.
  8. Participate in coding audits and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  9. Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve coding issues and discrepancies.
  10. Maintain productivity and accuracy standards set by the organization.
  11. Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvement and efficiency in coding and documentation.
  12. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with healthcare providers, colleagues, and other team members.
  13. Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in the field of healthcare coding.
  14. Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

  • Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification From Ahima

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Coding Experience In An Inpatient Setting

  • Experience With Encoder Software And Electronic Health Record Systems
