- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff by performing routine cleaning and disinfecting tasks.
- Follow established cleaning protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with infection control standards.
- Conduct thorough and detailed cleaning of patient rooms, common areas, and other designated areas.
- Monitor and replenish supplies, such as cleaning products and paper products, to ensure proper levels are maintained.
- Respond promptly to requests for cleaning services from nursing staff and other departments.
- Follow safety guidelines and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment when handling hazardous materials.
- Notify supervisor of any maintenance or safety issues that require attention.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all areas of the facility are adequately cleaned and maintained.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality.
- Participate in training and educational opportunities to continuously improve cleaning techniques and knowledge of safety protocols.
- Demonstrate professionalism and maintain a positive attitude while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For An Environmental Services Technician At Select Medical Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Math, Science, And Reading, Which Are Essential For The Job.
Previous Experience In Environmental Services: Select Medical Prefers Candidates With At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In Environmental Services, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Understanding Of Infection Control, Sanitation, And Safety Protocols.
Knowledge Of Osha Regulations: Select Medical Requires Candidates To Have A Thorough Understanding Of Occupational Safety And Health Administration (Osha) Regulations Related To Environmental Services. This Includes Proper Handling And Disposal Of Hazardous Materials, Personal Protective Equipment, And Bloodborne Pathogens.
Physical Ability To Perform Job Duties: The Job Of An Environmental Services Technician At Select Medical Requires Physical Stamina And The Ability To Perform Tasks Such As Lifting And Moving Heavy Equipment, Standing For Extended Periods, And Bending Or Reaching In Awkward Positions. Candidates Must Be Able To Pass A Physical Exam And Be Able To Lift Up To 50 Pounds.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Environmental Services Technicians At Select Medical Work Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals And Must Have Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills.
