Assistant General Counsel, Intellectual Property

Seagate Technology is looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Assistant General Counsel in the Intellectual Property (IP) department. The successful candidate will be a dedicated and knowledgeable professional with a strong commitment to protecting our IP assets. A successful candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of experience in the field of Intellectual Property Law, as well as a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a working knowledge of intellectual property laws, and the ability to think strategically and provide clear counsel and guidance to stakeholders. The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a commitment to excellence, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide legal counsel and guidance to stakeholders on matters of intellectual property law.
2. Develop and implement proactive strategies to protect Seagate's intellectual property assets.
3. Monitor and evaluate new intellectual property laws and regulations and advise stakeholders on any changes that may impact the company.
4. Draft, review, and negotiate intellectual property contracts, licenses, and agreements.
5. Develop and maintain relationships with external intellectual property law firms.
6. Serve as an internal resource to answer questions related to intellectual property law.
7. Conduct research and provide advice on potential conflicts of interest.
8. Represent Seagate in intellectual property disputes.
9. Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with intellectual property.
10. Stay up to date on developments in the field of intellectual property law.
