Pharmacy Intern

he Pharmacist Intern works under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care to patients. Other duties include purchasing and inventory control, distribution of controlled substances, automated cabinet replenishment, quality control and monitoring, order entry and dispensing, sterile products compounding, unit dose re-packaging, and special projects as required. Collaborates with other health care disciplines and supports the needs of patients and families. Maintains confidentiality of patient, staff, department and hospital information. Participates in continuous quality improvement. Demonstrates ability to perform competencies as outlined in Pharmacy’s Competency Assessment Tool. Demonstrates appropriate age-specific patient care as established for environment and job title.
