Job Description

Implement strategies to manage suppliers to meet objectives of quality, on time delivery, cost reduction, lead-time reduction and service. Prepare, distribute and follow-up on supplier performance reports. Work with Commodity Managers to obtain and negotiate pricing and submit accurate standard costs to finance. Maintain supplier files with necessary information and maintain JDE/other database(s) with accurate lead-times and ordering parameters. Work with Commodity Managers to consolidate the supplier base to meet objectives. Resolve persistent problems related to quality, delivery, acknowledgements, invoices and receiving. Maintain supplier addresses, contact information and other supplier information in JDE. Assist Materials Planning department with difficult shortages and change orders upon request.

Job Qualifications

Minimum five (5) years experience as a buyer / planner or similar materials management role in a large Manufacturing organization.
NAPM (A.P.P.,C.P.M.) or APICS (CPIM, CIRM) certification preferred.
Ability to identify processes needing improvement and recommend changes.
Advanced knowledge of purchasing functions with strengths in negotiations and performance improvement.
