- Develop and implement a comprehensive government affairs strategy for engaging with the Executive Branch of the U.S. government, aligned with the overall goals and objectives of SAP.
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments that may impact SAP and its operations, and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the Executive Branch, including elected officials, government agencies, and industry associations.
- Represent SAP's interests in meetings, hearings, and other interactions with government officials and policymakers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and advocacy efforts.
- Develop and manage a budget for government affairs activities and initiatives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in government affairs and incorporate them into SAP's strategy.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of government affairs professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
- Communicate SAP's government affairs priorities and progress to internal stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges related to government affairs.
- Foster positive relationships with external organizations and individuals to advance SAP's government affairs agenda.
- Stay current on laws, regulations, and policies that impact SAP's operations and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Represent SAP in industry events and conferences related to government affairs and advocate for the company's interests.
- Continuously evaluate and improve SAP's government affairs strategy, processes, and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.

Extensive Experience In Government Affairs: The Ideal Candidate For A Senior Director, U.s. Government Affairs - Executive Branch Role At Sap Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience Working In Government Affairs, Preferably In A Senior Leadership Position. They Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The U.s. Political Landscape And Established Relationships With Key Stakeholders In The Executive Branch.
In-Depth Knowledge Of U.s. Government Processes: The Candidate Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of The U.s. Government Processes, Including Legislative And Regulatory Processes, Budget And Appropriations, And Federal Procurement. They Should Also Be Well-Versed In The Inner Workings Of The Executive Branch And Have A Strong Network Of Contacts Within Various Agencies.
Strong Communication And Advocacy Skills: As A Senior Leader In Government Affairs, The Candidate Must Possess Exceptional Communication And Advocacy Skills. They Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate Complex Issues And Influence Decision-Makers. This Includes Having A Strong Understanding Of Public Policy And The Ability To Develop And Execute Strategic Government Relations Plans.
Ability To Navigate Complex Organizations: Working With Government Agencies And Departments Can Be A Complex And Challenging Task. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Navigating And Managing Relationships With Various Stakeholders, Both Internally And Externally. They Should Also Have Experience Working With Cross-Functional Teams And Be Able To Collaborate Effectively With Colleagues From Different Departments.
