- Develop and implement sustainability strategies and initiatives for SAP's data centers, in alignment with our overall sustainability goals and ESG principles.
- Monitor and track data center energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to reduce our environmental impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate sustainability and ESG practices into data center design, construction, and operations.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of data centers to ensure compliance with sustainability and ESG standards and regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in data center sustainability and ESG, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with external partners and vendors to promote sustainable practices and source environmentally responsible products and services.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate data center employees on sustainability and ESG practices.
- Communicate SAP's sustainability and ESG efforts to internal and external stakeholders, including reporting on progress and achievements.
- Drive innovation and explore new technologies to improve data center sustainability and reduce our carbon footprint.
- Act as a sustainability and ESG subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external partners.
Knowledge Of Sustainable Data Center Practices: A Data Center Sustainability And Esg Specialist At Sap Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Sustainable Data Center Practices, Including Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy Usage, And Waste Reduction Strategies.
Experience With Esg Reporting: Sap Places A Strong Emphasis On Environmental, Social, And Governance (Esg) Reporting. Therefore, A Candidate For This Role Should Have Experience With Esg Frameworks And Reporting Standards, Such As Gri And Sasb.
Understanding Of Data Center Operations: In Addition To Sustainability Knowledge, Candidates Should Also Have A Strong Understanding Of Data Center Operations, Including Server And Storage Hardware, Networking Infrastructure, And Data Center Cooling Systems.
Analytical Skills: As A Data Center Sustainability And Esg Specialist, It Is Important To Have Strong Analytical Skills To Track And Measure Key Sustainability Metrics, Identify Areas For Improvement, And Develop Data-Driven Strategies For Sustainability And Esg Initiatives.
Communication And Stakeholder Management Skills: This Role Will Involve Working With Various Departments And Stakeholders, Including It, Facilities, And Sustainability Teams. Therefore, Strong Communication And Stakeholder Management Skills Are Essential To Effectively Collaborate And Drive Sustainability And Esg Initiatives Across The Organization.
