
Recycling Program Specialist
Develops and monitors the District's recycling program so that it is in compliance with applicable state laws and other local community environmental regulations. Collects and records data used for compliance with applicable state laws and other local community environmental regulations.Develops and implements programs to increase recycling and to lower the amount of waste going to landfills. Schedules tours of the Vermitech machine. Arranges for the pick-up of all items to be recycled with the chosen recycling company. Works with recycling and waste-hauling vendors to identify appropriate collection sites and pick-up schedules.
4 year's work experience assisting in the maintenance and compliance of a recycling and solid waste management program.
Ability to train and qualify for Santa Monica College certificate of operations of a forklift during the probationary period.
Possession of a current California Class C Driver's License.
