Legal Counsel, Trademarks and Brand Protection

Assist with all aspects of protecting the company’s trademark assets, including trademark strategy, clearance, preparation, filing and prosecution of trademark applications globally. Counsel and collaborate with internal clients on strong trademark selection. Train / educate internal stakeholders on trademark law. Clear names proposed by internal clients and counsel clients on related risks. File and prosecute trademark applications including responses to office actions. Work with and manage outside counsel on protecting the company’s global trademark portfolio. Assist with trademark enforcement including monitoring and filing trademark oppositions and cancellations. Maintain trademark usage guidelines to protect the Company’s trademark rights and avoid brand dilution. Review trademark licensing and transactional work related to trademarks. Provide support for brand protection matters, including investigations, cease and desist letters, and other pre-litigation and litigation efforts.
