
Commodity Manager, Custom Silicon
A Commodity Manager at Western Digital is responsible to develop and implement commodity and supplier strategies designed to lead Western Digital into the next generation of world-changing products and designs. Create, implement and maintain sourcing and commodity strategies for Western Digital's supplier provided Flash Controller technologies. Provide spend analysis, supplier assessment and enable supplier and commodity selection for critical products and designs. Build cost models (TAC/should cost) to understand cost drivers and validate component pricing. Coordinate with Engineering, NPI, and suppliers to ensure the optimal selection of suppliers and components. Monitor and report cost reductions and spend and critical commodity measures. Ensure critical sourcing target and KPIs are met and provide planning towards long term objectives, including cost savings targets.
Minimum 3 years experience in managing electronics or electrical components, purchasing, commodity management
Utilize strong team-building abilities to lead cross-functionally and lead change.
Understanding of silicon commodities, materials, and manufacturing processes.
