Engineer - Substation Project

San Diego Gas & Electric is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Engineer – Substation Project to join our team. This challenging position requires an individual with a strong technical background and excellent project management skills. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and have a passion for developing and executing projects that meet the highest standards of safety, reliability and cost efficiency.Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of five years of experience in substation and/or power system engineering. Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, such as customers, regulatory agencies, and vendors, are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience with power system modeling, substation design, and the California Power System. Responsibilities: • Develop and execute substation projects that meet safety, reliability, and cost efficiency standards • Establish and maintain relationships with customers, regulatory agencies, and vendors • Generate project plans and technical specifications • Analyze and interpret data related to power systems • Design substation components and systems • Model power systems and analyze their performance • Apply the National Electrical Safety Code and National Electrical Code • Monitor and report on project progress • Inspect completed projects and ensure they are compliant with applicable regulations
