- Greet and welcome customers to the produce department, providing exceptional customer service at all times.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all produce products, including seasonality, varieties, and proper handling and storage techniques.
- Ensure that all produce is fresh, visually appealing, and properly stocked and rotated on the sales floor.
- Assist customers in selecting the best produce for their needs and provide recommendations and suggestions as needed.
- Handle customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner, escalating to management when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized produce department, including regularly cleaning and sanitizing work areas and displays.
- Receive and inspect produce shipments, ensuring quality and freshness standards are met.
- Properly handle and dispose of damaged or expired produce products.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve department goals and objectives, including meeting sales targets and reducing waste.
- Stay up-to-date on industry and market trends, making recommendations for new products or promotions.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Attend training sessions and team meetings to continuously improve product knowledge and customer service skills.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management to support the overall success of the produce department and store.
