- Maintain organized and well-stocked inventory in the backroom area to ensure a smooth shopping experience for members.
- Receive and process shipments of merchandise, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform inventory counts and maintain accurate records of stock levels.
- Monitor and report any discrepancies or issues with inventory to management.
- Utilize equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move and store merchandise.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed while handling and moving merchandise.
- Collaborate with other team members to efficiently restock and replenish merchandise on the sales floor.
- Keep backroom area clean and organized, following company standards and procedures.
- Assist with customer service duties, such as answering questions and locating merchandise.
- Proactively identify and report any potential safety hazards or maintenance issues in the backroom.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including but not limited to attendance, dress code, and safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure efficient and accurate completion of tasks.
- Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain a positive attitude and uphold the company's values and standards at all times.
- Display a strong work ethic and willingness to take on additional tasks or responsibilities as needed.
Knowledge Of Inventory Management: A Backroom Associate At Sam's Club Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Inventory Management Principles And Procedures. This Includes Skills Such As Stock Counting, Ordering, And Tracking Inventory Levels.
Physical Stamina: This Job Requires Physical Stamina As It Involves Frequent Lifting, Bending, And Moving Heavy Items. Candidates Should Be Able To Lift At Least 50 Pounds And Be Comfortable Working In A Fast-Paced Environment.
Organizational Skills: As A Backroom Associate, One Must Be Able To Efficiently Organize And Maintain The Store's Backroom. This Includes Skills Such As Labeling, Categorizing, And Keeping Track Of Inventory.
Attention To Detail: The Ability To Pay Close Attention To Detail Is Crucial In This Role. Backroom Associates Must Be Able To Quickly Identify Discrepancies In Stock Levels, Product Quality, And Pricing To Ensure An Accurate Inventory.
Teamwork: A Backroom Associate Must Be A Team Player And Be Willing To Work Collaboratively With Other Team Members To Ensure The Store's Backroom Runs Smoothly. This Includes Assisting With Tasks Outside Of Their Designated Area When Needed And Communicating Effectively With Other Team Members.
