As the Principal, you will play a critical role in identifying and nurturing the next generation of high-growth startups, while also driving strategic investments to support Salesforce's overall business objectives.   1. Lead the identification and evaluation of potential investment opportunities in the technology industry, utilizing your expertise in venture capital and market trends.
  2. Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investments, including financial analysis, market research, and competitive landscape assessment.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, startups, and other key players in the technology ecosystem to source potential investment opportunities.
  4. Work closely with the Salesforce Ventures team to develop investment strategies and support the team's overall goals and objectives.
  5. Provide strategic guidance to portfolio companies, leveraging your industry knowledge and experience to help them achieve growth and success.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Salesforce to identify potential synergies and opportunities for strategic partnerships with portfolio companies.
  7. Stay current on industry trends and developments, and proactively identify new areas of investment potential.
  8. Represent Salesforce Ventures at industry events and conferences, and act as a thought leader and ambassador for the team.
  9. Mentor and guide junior members of the team, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  10. Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of existing investments, and make recommendations for potential divestments or follow-on investments.

Job Qualifications
  • Expertise In Salesforce Ecosystem: As A Salesforce Ventures Principal, The Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Salesforce Ecosystem, Including Salesforce Products, Partners, And Customers. This Will Enable Them To Identify Potential Investment Opportunities And Make Informed Decisions.

  • Strong Business Acumen: The Candidate Should Possess Strong Business Acumen And The Ability To Analyze Market Trends, Identify Potential Growth Opportunities, And Assess The Financial Viability Of Investments. This Will Ensure That The Investments Made Are Aligned With Salesforce's Overall Business Strategy.

  • Investment Experience: A Successful Candidate For This Role Should Have Experience In Venture Capital Or Private Equity Investments. This Includes Deal Sourcing, Due Diligence, Valuation, And Negotiation Skills. Previous Experience In The Technology Industry And Knowledge Of Saas Companies Is Preferred.

  • Relationship Building Skills: As A Salesforce Ventures Principal, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Building And Maintaining Relationships With Founders, Executives, And Other Key Stakeholders In The Startup Community. Strong Networking And Communication Skills Are Essential For This Role.

  • Strategic Thinking: The Candidate Should Possess Strong Strategic Thinking Skills And The Ability To Identify And Evaluate Potential Investments That Align With Salesforce's Long-Term Goals. They Should Also Have The Vision To Identify Emerging Trends And Technologies That Can Drive Future Growth For Salesforce.
