- Develop and maintain a network of contacts in the startup community to source potential investment opportunities.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investments, including financial analysis, market research, and risk assessment.
- Negotiate deal terms and structure investments in alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate potential investments from a strategic and financial perspective.
- Monitor and track the performance of portfolio companies, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform investment decisions.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Salesforce Ventures, representing the company at industry events and conferences.
- Foster strong relationships with portfolio company CEOs and founders, providing mentorship and support to help them grow and succeed.
- Contribute to the development of investment strategies and play a key role in setting the direction of the company's investment portfolio.
- Continuously assess and improve the investment process to ensure it aligns with best practices and industry standards.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
Extensive Experience In Venture Capital: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 7-10 Years Of Experience In Venture Capital, Preferably With A Focus On Enterprise Software And Technology Companies. This Experience Should Include Sourcing Deals, Conducting Due Diligence, And Managing Portfolio Companies.
Strong Understanding Of The Salesforce Ecosystem: The Salesforce Ventures Principal Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Salesforce Ecosystem, Including Its Products, Services, And Partnerships. They Should Also Be Familiar With The Company's Strategic Priorities And Growth Areas.
Proven Track Record Of Successful Investments: The Candidate Should Have A Track Record Of Successful Investments, Preferably In The Enterprise Software And Technology Space. They Should Be Able To Demonstrate Their Ability To Identify High-Potential Startups And Help Them Scale Through Strategic Guidance And Support.
