  1. Manage and process all workers' compensation claims for Ryder System employees.
  2. Review and assess the validity of each claim, ensuring compliance with company policies and workers' compensation laws.
  3. Communicate with employees, managers, and insurance companies to gather necessary information and documentation for claims processing.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all workers' compensation claims and related information.
  5. Collaborate with HR and safety departments to implement preventative measures and promote a safe work environment for employees.
  6. Conduct thorough investigations into workplace injuries and accidents, including interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence.
  7. Ensure timely and appropriate payment of benefits to injured employees.
  8. Stay up-to-date on changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  9. Advise and educate employees and managers on workers' compensation processes and procedures.
  10. Provide support and guidance to employees throughout the workers' compensation process, including return-to-work plans and accommodations.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  12. Work closely with insurance companies and legal teams as needed.
  13. Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  14. Contribute to the overall success of the company's mission by promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Workers' Compensation Laws And Regulations: A Successful Candidate For This Role Should Have A Strong Understanding Of State And Federal Laws Related To Workers' Compensation, Including Eligibility Requirements, Coverage Limitations, And Claim Filing Procedures.

  • Experience In Claims Management: Previous Experience In Claims Management, Preferably In The Transportation Or Logistics Industry, Is Highly Desirable. This Includes The Ability To Accurately Evaluate And Process Claims, Communicate With Injured Workers And Medical Providers, And Negotiate Settlements.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Claims Representative, You Will Be Responsible For Communicating With A Variety Of Stakeholders, Including Injured Workers, Supervisors, Medical Professionals, And Insurance Carriers. Strong Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Essential For Success In This Role.

  • Attention To Detail And Analytical Skills: Claims Representatives Must Be Detail-Oriented And Have Strong Analytical Skills To Accurately Evaluate And Process Claims. This Includes Reviewing Medical Records, Calculating Benefits, And Determining The Validity Of Claims.

  • Ability To Work Independently And In A Team Environment: Ryder System Values Employees Who Can Work Independently And Take Initiative, While Also Being Able To Collaborate And Work Effectively Within A Team. A Successful Claims Representative Should Be Able To Manage Their Own Caseload, As Well As Work With Other Team Members To Ensure Timely And Accurate Claims Processing.
