- Operate forklift in a safe and efficient manner to move and store materials within the warehouse.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections of forklift to ensure proper functioning and report any issues or malfunctions.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles using forklift.
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with warehouse team to fulfill orders and meet deadlines.
- Keep warehouse clean and organized, including sweeping and removing debris.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures to maintain a professional and efficient work environment.
- Continuously monitor and report inventory levels to ensure timely replenishment.
- Operate other warehouse equipment as needed, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Attend training sessions and keep up-to-date with forklift operating techniques and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of materials and products handled.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements.
Valid Forklift Operator Certification: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Valid Forklift Operator Certification From A Recognized Training Institute. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Proper Training And Is Equipped With The Necessary Skills To Operate A Forklift Safely And Efficiently.
Experience In Warehouse Operations: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Warehouse Environment Is Typically Required For A Forklift Operator Position At Ryder System. This Experience Should Include Operating Different Types Of Forklifts, Loading And Unloading Materials, And Stacking And Organizing Inventory.
Knowledge Of Safety Procedures: As A Forklift Operator, Safety Is Of Utmost Importance. The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Safety Procedures And Regulations Related To Forklift Operations, Such As Proper Lifting Techniques, Load Capacity, And Hazard Recognition.
Physical Fitness And Dexterity: The Job Of A Forklift Operator Requires Physical Strength And Dexterity. The Candidate Should Be Able To Lift And Move Heavy Objects, Maneuver The Forklift In Tight Spaces, And Have Good Hand-Eye Coordination.
