- Safely operate a Class A truck and deliver goods to customers in a timely and efficient manner.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure safe and efficient transportation of goods.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in proper working condition.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of mileage, fuel usage, and deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues or concerns.
- Provide exceptional customer service by being courteous, professional, and helpful at all times.
- Load and unload goods using proper techniques and equipment to prevent damage.
- Follow all company safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck, both inside and out.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to meeting and exceeding daily delivery targets.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Attend training sessions and safety meetings as required.
- Represent Ryder System in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Report any mechanical issues or accidents immediately.
- Continuously monitor and report any changes or issues with delivery routes.
- Collaborate with the team to identify ways to improve processes and increase efficiency.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and submit it on time.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance and punctuality.
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): This Is A Mandatory Requirement For Any Truck Driver Position. A Class A Cdl Allows The Driver To Operate Large Commercial Vehicles, Such As Tractor-Trailers, With A Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (Gvwr) Of 26,001 Pounds Or More.
Clean Driving Record: A Clean Driving Record Is Essential For A Truck Driver As They Are Responsible For The Safe And Timely Transportation Of Goods. Candidates For The Job Should Have A Record Free From Major Traffic Violations Or Accidents.
Experience With Touch Daily Operations: Ryder System Requires Their Truck Drivers To Have Experience With Touch Daily Operations. This Includes Loading And Unloading Freight, Securing Loads, And Completing Necessary Paperwork For Each Shipment.
Physical Fitness: Truck Driving Is A Physically Demanding Job, Requiring Drivers To Spend Long Hours Sitting And Maneuvering Heavy Vehicles. A Good Level Of Physical Fitness Is Necessary To Handle The Job's Physical Demands And Stay Alert On The Road.
