  1. Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  2. Transport goods to and from designated locations in a timely and efficient manner.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date delivery records and logs.
  4. Inspect vehicle and perform routine maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  5. Communicate effectively with dispatch team and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
  6. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety protocols and customer service standards.
  7. Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
  8. Utilize navigation tools to plan the most efficient route for deliveries.
  9. Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly to prevent damage during transportation.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized truck, both inside and out.
  11. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and take pride in delivering goods on time and in excellent condition.
  12. Continuously strive to improve delivery processes and procedures.
  13. Comply with all company and DOT regulations and requirements.
  14. Attend trainings and meetings as required.
  15. Maintain a positive attitude and work collaboratively with team members to achieve company goals.

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Cdl B License: The Most Important Qualification For A Truck Driver At Ryder System Is A Valid Cdl B License. This License Allows The Driver To Operate Commercial Vehicles Weighing Up To 26,000 Pounds And Is A Legal Requirement For All Truck Drivers.

  • Clean Driving Record: A Clean Driving Record Is Essential For A Truck Driver At Ryder System. Candidates With A History Of Accidents Or Traffic Violations May Not Be Considered For The Job As They May Pose A Risk To Themselves And Others On The Road.

  • Experience: Ryder System Prefers Candidates With At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience As A Truck Driver. This Experience Should Include Driving Commercial Vehicles, Operating Different Types Of Equipment, And Navigating Various Routes.

  • Physical Fitness: Since Truck Driving Can Be A Physically Demanding Job, Candidates Must Be In Good Physical Condition. This Includes Having The Physical Ability To Load And Unload Cargo, Perform Pre-Trip Inspections, And Sit For Extended Periods While Driving.

  • Availability For Home Daily Schedule: Ryder System Is Looking For Candidates Who Are Available To Work A Home Daily Schedule. This Means That The Driver Will Be Home Every Night And Must Be Willing To Work Early Mornings, Evenings, And Weekends As Needed. Flexibility And Reliability Are Important Qualities For This Job.
