- Operate commercial motor vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns
- Load and unload freight using proper techniques and equipment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all deliveries and pickups
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, dispatchers, and other team members
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment
- Follow company procedures for securing and protecting cargo during transport
- Report any accidents, incidents, or traffic violations in a timely manner
- Keep truck and trailer clean and presentable at all times
- Attend and participate in safety meetings and training sessions as required
- Be available for occasional overnight trips and flexible work schedules as needed
- Continuously demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
- Represent Ryder System in a positive and professional manner at all times.
